Oh, the Places You’ll Go with CKI!

One of the most exciting parts about being a member of CKI is having the opportunity to travel and build friendships with fellow members from across the U.S. and around the world. Fellowship is a pillar of the Circle K experience, and having a strong network of friends who are passionate about service is how Circle K became the largest student-led collegiate service organization in the world.

This past April, our governor Emily attended a training conference in Indianapolis with governors and advisers from across the country. While there, she formed friendships and learned valuable skills all while getting to visit a different area of the country. Here’s what Emily had to say:

In April, I had the opportunity to attend the Circle K International Governors and Administrators Training Conference (GATC). In less than a week, I had the opportunity to meet and learn from so many incredible people. At GATC, we learn about fun stuff like recruitment, club growth, and communication… and some not-so-fun (but still important) stuff like insurance and club dues.

I felt like the most important part of the week was getting to meet all the other newly elected governors. With every conversation with a governor or administrator, we swapped ideas on how to make each district great! It was amazing to have that positive energy and enthusiasm about CKI. During that time, Sid, our district adviser, and I were able to spend a lot of time discussing our district — creating goals, discovering needed improvements, deciding on events, and much more! We came up with lots of great ideas — from planning our officer training meeting to creating a fall event.

Sid and I are so excited about this year of service, leadership, and fellowship. We hope you are, too!

On her next CKI adventure, Emily will be heading to Toronto in Ontario, Canada to celebrate the 61st annual Circle K International Convention. Thousands of CKI members from across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean will be there for 5 days of fellowship, service and growth. Not only will Emily get to meet incredible people, but she’ll get to do it in an amazing city! Stay tuned for more info about CKIx and keep an eye out for Emily’s CKIx recap and fun posts from Toronto.
